Recognizes a senior (4th year+) engineering student that has been involved within the engineering community during the entirety of their undergraduate career. From MUES initiatives to student groups to involvement in various events, this student has made great impact during their time at TMU.

Aileen Clarke Lambie Award

Presented by Toronto Metropolitan University, February 2025

The Aileen Clark Lambie Awards are open to second-, third- and fourth-year undergraduate women engineering students who have made a notable contribution to women in engineering activities at FEAS. Eligible candidates must also be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants who meet specific academic expectations and demonstrate financial need.

Most Impact Award

Brian Segal Award

Presented by Toronto Metropolitan University, December 2023

The Brian Segal Award recognizes students who have on a voluntary basis made an outstanding contribution to the cultural and/or athletic life of Toronto Metropolitan University. Dr. Brian Segal, during his eight-year tenure as the TMU President from 1980-1988, established a legacy of leadership and academic vision underscored by a special interest and belief in the quality of student life. Of particular interest to him was the role that extracurricular activities focusing on cultural pursuits, as well as athletics, play in the totality of individual development.

Applicants must meet ALL the following criteria:
Applicant must have clear academic standing.
Applicant must be a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year student.
Applicant must be an undergraduate student.
Applicant must be enrolled full-time.
Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Advancement Award

Presented by Metropolitan Undergraduate Engineering Society, May 2023

Recognizes a group that has performed outstandingly to show its growth and become more active in the community. This group has engaged in work that has improved team operations and services compared to its year prior. This award is presented to ECESTORMS (formerly RECESS).

Woman in Engineering Award

Presented by Metropolitan Undergraduate Engineering Society, May 2023

Recognizes a female-identifying engineering student who proactively supports women in engineering initiatives and community members. This student mentors women in engineering, participates/organizes women in engineering outreach activities, and/or creates services that support women in engineering.

People's Choice Award for Innovative Design

Presented by Ontario Engineering Competition, January 2023

Awarded based on votes from fellow competitors, industry judges, and attendees, this recognition highlights the project that resonated most with the engineering community for its creativity, impact, and presentation. Selected as the standout design among top provincial teams, our project was recognized for its innovation, technical execution, and real-world relevance.

First Place for Innovative Design

Presented by Metropolitan Engineering Competition, November 2022

Awarded first place in the Innovative Design category at TMU’s flagship internal engineering competition. Recognized for delivering a well-researched, technically sound, and impactful design solution that addressed a real-world engineering challenge. Judged on innovation, feasibility, presentation, and technical execution among a field of multidisciplinary student teams.

Hydro One Women in Engineering Award

Presented by Ontario Engineering Competition, January 2023

Selected as 1 of only 10 recipients across Ontario, this prestigious award recognizes outstanding female engineering students who exemplify leadership, academic excellence, and a strong commitment to inclusion in STEM. Presented as part of The One Awards, the Hydro One Women in Engineering Award celebrates aspiring professionals whose innovation, character, and community impact reflect the values of Hydro One and its diverse customer base.

Established in 2014, the award is a key component of Hydro One’s ongoing efforts to foster the professional growth of women in engineering, through initiatives such as Go ENG Girl and the Women in Engineering University Partnership. In addition to a financial award, recipients are also offered a paid work term with Hydro One, creating valuable pathways for career development in the energy sector.

Mohamed Lachemi Student Leader of the Year Award
